CARMICHAEL, Calif. (KCRA) —For one self-described serial entrepreneur, the grand opening of the Milagro Centre’s new kitchen demonstration experience in Carmichael could someday host celebrity chefs who’ve appeared on reality TV.

“Hopefully, Michael Touhy will come. You never know. That would be fantastic,” said Jenn Crabbe, a partner in the new event center.

The 8,500-square-foot event center will hold it’s public grand opening dinner Thursday evening inside a 345-seat capacity dining area on Fair Oaks Bouelvard.

The event center is combining Sacramento’s farm-to-fork movement with elements of reality TV to create a unique dining experience in the region, Crabbe said.

The chefs will wear microphones and prepare dinner in front of a series of discreetly positioned cameras so that diners can watch and listen to them on several giant-screen televisions.

“One of the screens is 12 feet by 7 feet,” Crabbe said. “It’s Food Network style. It’s something we really don’t have in this area.”

The grand opening dinner will be prepared by Allyson Harvie, executive chef of the soon-to-open The Patriot restaurant. In coming months, chefs will be rotated among local and national chefs invited to perform for ticket-holding audiences.

The event center is the latest addition to a complex that already includes the recently opened River City Brewing Co.

Other previously announced tenants of the Milagro Centre include Mesa Mercado, Ghiotto Gelator, Hunt and Gather, Insight Coffee Roasters and Fish Face Poke Bar.
